This is it, the end of the daily show is upon us and Jon Stewart is ready to go out with a bang! The show has been running for no less than 16 years now – the show has been monumentally important in highlighting political issues with a great deal of wit and satire, and providing a breeding ground for future comedy legends in the process.
Like with many less than happy subjects lately (well, depending on your stance on them!) like the election and political debates on television – people have now created a “daily show bingo” game for loving viewers to play online as they watch the final episode of their soon to be missed show. This has already been done with several shows of the same type already and is proving to be a bit of a phenomenon due to how genuinely fun it is and how engrossing it can be whilst watching something you already enjoy.
The key to the success of the movement is the fact that bingo is incredibly easy to adapt to any setting you wish, it’s literally just a table of squares that you can fill with quotes, movie lines or jokes of any kind to turn pretty much any subject matter into a full fledged bingo game. The best part is the fact there’s nothing to lose! No stress, no money (unless you want there to be) and no hassle, it’s pure simple fun in the comfort of your own living room.
It’s on the subject of fun that we MUST encourage you to try this latest take on the classic game we known and love, if you’re a daily show fan you will absolutely love this! – it takes Jon’s most frequently used gags and scenarios and uses them all in beautiful unison for you to score points with your friends and family whilst enjoying the final airing of the iconic show. If you’ve been watching the show for any length of time, you’ll really appreciate the situations being used here, they honour all of the elements of the show that makes it what it is, and the squares all individually totally reflect the show in its entirety and what it’s all about. It’s a true homage to a great piece of television and fans are definitely not going to be disappointed in any way whilst they laugh away the final minutes of one of the nations most important pieces of television history a long with Jon Stewart.
If you haven’t already created your own version of bingo with another television program or film, you’ve GOT to give it a go – you could even do it with something you hate like millions did with the election and turn something negative into a positive laughter output to cope with the tedium. All you need to do is pick the “universe” or setting, we’re talking television programs, films, documentaries, the news – literally anything. Next, decide on the size of your grid, and make sure each and every square in that grid represents something about the subject matter hat can easily be spotted to score a point. In a movie like Jurassic park, you could put “T-rex roars”, or for the news, you could put “presenter picks up coffee mug” – it’s highly adaptable, which is why it’s been so successful.
With the GOP debate coming up hours before the final Daily Show, it’s likely Jon will be on form and on point to go out in style. We wish Jon the best of luck in his new endeavours!
